Gretchen Gagel joined us as Managing Director of Conversant Asia Pacific earlier this year, bringing with her decades of experience collaborating with leaders to solve strategic issues in a way that brings about sustainable change and enhanced organizational performance.
Under her company Greatness Consulting, Gretchen launched a podcast where she has hosted the world’s leading thinkers as they share their ideas about how to create greatness in leadership, teams and organizations.
As leaders all around the world are currently facing difficult decisions and looking to balance the long-term success of their businesses with the immediate needs of their people, Gretchen asked that Mickey Connolly join her on the podcast for a series on leadership in challenging times.
In our first episode of the series, Mickey tells the story of a high-tech Fortune 500 company facing a plant closure due to growing competition and an urgent need to lower costs. With a one-year wait for a new, more efficient plant to open that would consolidate operations and increase efficiency, the company was left with the difficult task of maintaining full production at an old site that would eventually close, where everyone knew they would soon be losing their jobs.
You can find this and all past episodes of Gretchen’s Greatness Podcast online here, or through Apple Podcasts, Spotify and more.
